Ghost Town

site-specific performance projekt with an integrative elementary school class

Osnabrück 2013

As part of my didactic seminar in art education at the University of Osnabrück, I worked with students to develop a site-specific performance project for a fourth grade class at an Osnabrück elementary school. After some introductory exercises in the school and on the school grounds, we worked for four days on a former British Army barracks site, which is currently undergoing a conversion process.

Some buildings will be repurposed, but many will soon be demolished, like the former officers' mess building, where the children developed very different performances in small groups.

For the huge parade ground, we guided the development of a large group performance. All the resulting works were filmed and then given to each participating child as a DVD.
